BRAZILIAN PICTURES IN PARIS

Brazil has been the centre of the attention this year. With the advent of the world cup, events evidencing the cultural aspect of the country have been organized everywhere and once more, France opens its arms to receive the Brazilian culture on Parisiense soil. From the 2nd of July to the 3rd of August, the city hall of Paris, exhibits on its walls an exposition of Brazilian Pictures.

 

The central aspect of this exposition is the popular culture: - Street football, the carnival in Rio de Janeiro and the afro-brazilian religions. The exhibition, which displays the works of various emblematique photographers,shows the country seen from many different perspectives, and it is an invitation to reflect about its cultural diversity.

 

The commissaire of this exhibition is a Brazilian Sociologist, Cristianne Rodrigues, who has been living in France since 2005 and has been developing a project for a Brazilian Cultural Centre in Paris.

 

The exhibition – Les artisans du Regard - The artisans look - has been held at 4 rue Lobau – Paris
