“TEN have been great so far and I am looking forward to getting back into work following my shoulder surgery” Thorpedo said, who is doing with this an important step in his recovery, considering that he was discharged from hospital in the beggining of May.

TEN’s head of sports David Barham also commented about this signing: “We are honoured and excited that Ian has agreed to join our commentary team”.

Thorpe was one of the biggest names called to compete in this 20th Commomwealth Games, in 2014 and was invited by the organozation to participate with Wild Card, but after failing to qualify to London Olympics, the legend of the pool fell into depression and later he had a serious surgery to try to save his arm from a severe infection.

In this way, Thorpe is joinning his name now to other superstars who are going to be in Glasgow, like the Olympic british gold medalists athlete Mo Farah and cyclist Bradley Wiggins, swimmer Chad le Clos or the world's fastest man Usain Bolt, competing all from the 24th of July to the 3rd of August.
