New Farm openend to Mambo Swings

Live Mambo Swings with a Latin Music Concert

For dancing lovers, fans of live music or highly skilled in Latin music, the appointment was last weekend. The Brisbane Symphonic Band Swing had a date in New Farm on Sunday 29th of June to move on the hips of the people and dazzle on the crowd with their Latin rhythms and fun.

The band performed and played the heat and the beat of the bossa nova, cha cha cha, mambo and samba in the afternoon, in a Latin party where the whole family was invited. A great opportunity to enjoy and join to a guide tour through Latin music, it was live and free.

For this outdoor concert, the Brisbane Symphonic Band Swing played their classic hits, like Flight of the Bumblebee, Catch me if you can, and a range of classical and swing melodies, accompanied with danceable and sensual music from Latin America.

The Brisbane Symphonic Band Swing is usually one of the most remarkable groups performing music in parks all along the city, participating and collaborating with the Brisbane City Council, in the “Bands in Parks” program promoted by the Council.

Founded in 1994, the seventeen musicians who take part in the BSB Swing are highly experienced performing traditional and contemporary big band musicians, in different styles, from jazz, blues, funk or rock to classic and new Latin dancing rhythms.
