Guzman y Gomez is the new popular Mexican Taqueria place that is growing in popularity all over Australia.

This place is a celebration of all things Latin; the food, the music, the culture, the art and its people.

Here you can buy all your favourite Mexican foods from Burritos to Nachos, Quesadillas to Enchiladas, and Fajitas to Tacos.

With each meal you have your choice of meat including the Spicy Chicken Guerrero, Pork Chipotle, Steak Chipotle, Chicken Guerrero, Barramundi and the vegetable.

Some other options also include the salads, kids’ meals, and just plain corn chips and salsa if you don’t want a big meal. To drink, there is the option of cans of soft drink, Jarritos, still or sparkling water, frozen Margarita or Sangria, Coronas, imported Mexican beers and Tequila shots.

When I visited the opening of the Guzman y Gomez restaurant in their new store at Kawana Shopping World on the Sunshine Coast, I was exceptionally impressed with the eye-catching presentation and their exciting vibe.

There were bright colours, and painted milk crates hanging from the ceiling, a pinball machine made into a dining table, and live performances of dancing and singing.

I opted to try the beef burrito. It came with rice, cheese, vegetarian black beans, salsa and filling, all rolled into a soft tortilla. I was pleasantly surprised at how authentic it tasted.

The beef was tender and juicy, not overcooked, and seasoned perfectly while the rice and black beans complimented it nicely.

The burrito was also quite a big portion, so it was a great deal for the fair price of about $9 that I paid for it. I give the restaurant and the food 5/5.
