Melbourne is known to be a multicultural city, with people around the world sharing their culture, dance and food with Austrilians. Over the years, Australia is also known to receive numerous refugees around the world, who are looking for a better life condition in these lands.
To celebrate this multicultural Melbourne, the Emerge Festival was created.
In its 11th edition, the Emerge festival will celebrate with music and dance shows around Melbourne in recognition of United Nations World Refugee Day and Refugee Week.
The festival is running in Melbourne for six weeks, starting in May 17 with a concert featuring an Africa dances grooves and finishes at 10 of July, Burundian Independence Day , with numerous artist from the country, at the South Melbourne Town Hall.
This is the only festival to reunite and celebrate the refuges culture, bringing together incredible talents these people have brought to Australia and provides an opportunity for people to share and celebrate their rich culture, with music, dance and art. All these events are free! Don’t miss the chance to know this artist and discover a new world inside Melbourne.
