07/10/2014

A celebration of the night, a magical ambient, an enchanted, old and full of histories place. The Winter Night Markets are coming again with the cold winter of Melbourne and inside the great Queen Victoria Market to celebrate this unique night in a wonderland where you can enjoy the sound of crackling fires and the smells of deliciously warming soul food. You can do all this while shopping for goods from some of the region’s best designers and artisans, you just have to pass right there any winter's Wednesday from 9th of July to 27th of August, between 5PM to 10PM.

If you want to enjoy or you are looking for a magical night of fun, fashion, food and flamboyance, and you are in Melbourne, this is the perfect place to visit. Shake off the winter blues with soulful rhythms from jazz to gypsy, and unexpected encounters with roaming performers. In this Night Market you could feel the sound of crackling fires and sizzling hot plates, serving up deliciously warming soul food inspired by exotic dishes and made by local hands, and savour traditional teas and winter drinks from all over the world.

The also known affectionately as “Queen Vic’, Queen Victoria Market is much more than the city’s fresh-food shopping mecca – it’s a historic landmark, a tourist attraction and a Melbourne institution. It also has been the heart and soul of Melbourne for more than a century. A vibrant and bustling inner-city Market where you can shop for everything from Australian fruit and vegetables, and local and imported gourmet foods, to cosmetics, clothing and souvenirs.

The market is open five days a week, Tuesday, and Thursday to Sunday, with Sunday taking on a carnival atmosphere as entertainers delight the crowds. Moreover, guided tours are available to highlight the market’s food, heritage and culture, shopping and history.
