Nights on Ocean: the monthly artisan market in Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast has become a hotspot within the Maroochydore CBD since Ocean Street has had its complete renovation bringing new cafes, restaurants, shops and music avenues. Run by the MRA (Maroochydore Revitalisation Association) the event is held every month on the second Friday. Originally an old shopping centre, the renovations have breathed new life into the CBD and brought crowds of people to the street for an evening extravaganza.

‘Nights on Ocean’, the name given to the monthly artisan market event; was created to bring together artists, musicians, and chefs together to celebrate art, culture, design and cuisine under the stars. At twilight, the street is a bustling hub of cultural activity with local and international foods, talented local bands and buskers and a vast selection of handmade jewellery, clothes, and handbag stalls. While later into the evening drinks will be available at The Captain and the Dukes Bar.

For the kids, there is the ‘Caravan of Smiles’ – a funky photo booth caravan where you can dress up in various props and costumes. Food for the night will include a selection of different cuisines like Thai, Mexican and Wood-fired Pizza. While nearby restaurants such as the popular burger joint, Hello Harry, and the South American cuisine restaurant, Machu Picchu will be open for service.

This trendy night market is the perfect way to unwind after a day at work, or even just a fun night out with friends and family and it’s all in walking distance from Cotton Tree.

The next Nights on Ocean event will be coming up on Friday 11th July and will be from 5:00pm till 9:00pm.
